All six of our grass pitches at Monkwearmouth have been rated Good or Advanced in this year’s Football Foundation pitch inspection. We strive to create the best possible playing environment for our players in Sunderland, and this result shows the hard work is paying off.
Our Football Foundation pitch inspection results
Two of our pitches achieved an Advanced rating, the top grade. Pitch 3 has held its Advanced rating every year since 2022. The other four were all rated Good.
The inspector said the results are a credit to everyone involved, and we couldn’t agree more.
Thank you
A huge thank you to everyone who works hard to look after our pitches week in, week out. Thanks to Bennison Groundworks for their work on the ground, and to the Football Foundation and Durham FA for their support.
What’s next for our pitches
The hot summer allowed a few weeds to creep in, so there’s still work to do over the winter. But we’re proud of what’s been achieved and we’re looking forward to making our pitches even better.
