This page explains what information North East Sport collects about you and your children, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We’ve kept it in plain English. If anything isn’t clear, ask us.
Who we are
North East Sport is the trading name of N.E. Sport Community Interest Company, company number 07068042, registered office Monkwearmouth Academy, Torver Crescent, Sunderland SR6 8LG. We are responsible for the personal information described here. You can contact us at or on 07883 885708.
What we collect
When you book a session or camp, or join as a member, we collect the parent or carer’s name, email address and phone number, and your child’s name, date of birth or school year, and any medical, dietary or additional needs you tell us about so we can look after them properly. We also keep emergency contact details and who is allowed to collect your child.
If you volunteer or work with us, we collect what we need for safer recruitment, including DBS checks.
If you sign up to our newsletter, we collect your email address. If you contact us, we keep your message so we can reply.
Why we use it
We use your information to run sessions and camps, keep children safe, take payments, tell you about changes or cancellations, and meet our legal duties around safeguarding and accounts. Medical and additional needs information is used only so that staff can care for your child, and only the people who need to see it can.
We only send you news and updates if you’ve signed up for them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We use a small number of trusted services to run things: Acuity Scheduling for bookings, Stripe for payments, Jotform for some forms, Substack for our newsletter, and Google and Meta (Facebook) to understand how people use our website. These companies only handle your information to provide that service to us.
We may share information with the FA, Durham County FA, funders or the council where we have to for registration, reporting or safeguarding. Where a child may be at risk, we will share information with the right authorities.
Photos and video
We don’t take photos or video of children at our sessions, camps or clubs. If we ever need one for a specific reason, such as a league team photo, we ask a parent or carer for written permission first.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies. Some are needed for the site to work. Others, like Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) pixel, help us see which pages people visit and how they found us, and these only run if you say yes in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time, and our cookie policy lists every cookie we use.
How long we keep it
We keep booking and membership records for as long as your child is with us and for a reasonable time afterwards for our accounts and safeguarding records, then we delete them.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you or your child, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we don’t have to keep it. Email . If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
