The school holidays have come to an end, and as we catch our breath and pack away the last of the bibs and buckets, we are absolutely buzzing with the success of our six-week summer programme! We are thrilled to announce that our 2025 holiday camps were our busiest ever, with record-breaking numbers of children joining us for weeks of fun, friendship, and activity.
From the entire team at North East Sport, we want to say a massive thank you to all the parents who trusted us and to every single young person who brought their incredible energy to our camps every day.
A Summer Tradition: Sun, Sand & Smiles at Our Beach Camps
Our Beach Camps have become a cherished summer tradition for so many families in Sunderland, and this year was no exception! It was fantastic to see so many new and returning faces making the most of our beautiful coastline. The days were packed with adventure and creativity, including:
- Energetic Beach Sports & Games: From thrilling beach football matches to fun team challenges, the energy was infectious.
- Exciting Rock Pooling Discoveries: We explored the fascinating mini-ecosystems of our shoreline, discovering all sorts of tiny sea creatures.
- Epic Sandcastle Building: The creativity on display was incredible, with magnificent fortresses and sculptures taking over the beach!
- Creative Beach Arts & Crafts: Using natural materials to create wonderful seaside mementos.
Skills & Fun on the Pitch: Football Camps Hit the Mark
Alongside the beach fun, our Football Camps were a hive of activity. We were so impressed with the dedication and passion shown by all the players, from those attending our general training camps to those honing their skills at our specialist Striker and Goalkeeper clinics. It was a summer of focused development, teamwork, and, most importantly, a love for the game. We saw so much improvement in every player and are incredibly proud of their efforts.
A Huge Thank You to Our Community
Running a programme of this scale is a huge team effort, and we couldn’t do it without the support of our incredible community. Thank you for your patience during the construction works and for your unwavering enthusiasm. Seeing hundreds of happy, active, and engaged children is why we do what we do.
