Director

Peter Curtis

Just a ordinary angry authentic bloke from Sunderland trying to do my best, a founding Member since 2009 . I am determined, competitive, and not afraid to take risks. After working in construction for over ten years I decided to set up a not for profit organisation to help people. This came at great personnel financial cost but I keep on going. I can always look back at my life and say I have made a difference to peoples lives.

I never stop learning. I am not afraid to stand up if I feel somethings not right.

I am passionate about the community, passionate about making a difference to people’s lives, I just want to help people.

I believe in miracles, my Grandad told me anything is possible.

Some people think I’m crazy, I just think differently.

I love helping people and my community. People respect me and no money can buy that.

Peter Curtis: A Force for Good

Driven by passion and a relentless work ethic, Peter has dedicated his life to empowering young people through sport. As a founding member of North East Sport, he’s been instrumental in creating positive change within the community.

Lindsay Williams

Lindsay Williams: A Fourteen-Year Commitment to North East Sport

With no idea what I wanted to do with my life or where I was going I took the opportunity to start volunteering and establish North East Sport in 2009 at the tender age of 21 and never looked back.

Something clicked and I realised that helping people was what I wanted to do.

More than a decade later, with a lot of blood, sweat and tears, I have learnt so many wide ranging skills adapting to what the organisation has needed.

From gaining coaching qualifications and delivering healthy activites in school, to running the organisation side of North East Sport Youth F.C, becoming a level 3 Beach School Practioner and planting bulbs in the local community- there is never a dull moment and no day is ever the same!

I love seeing the difference that can be made to people by giving them the support and tools they need to lead happier lives in whatever form that may take.

Young people are our future and they are the ones who have the ideas to make our world a better place. We just have to support them to make sure they realise their full potential and empower them to know that theyhave the ablility to achieve so much in their lives.
