Toddler football starts next Saturday, 7 November, at Monkwearmouth Academy in Sunderland, and we’ve only got a handful of spaces left.
It isn’t really about football yet. It’s running, kicking, catching, taking turns and getting used to being part of a group. Those are the things that set little ones up for everything that comes after, in sport and at nursery or school.
Who runs it
Katerina leads the sessions. She knows exactly how to keep 2, 3 and 4 year olds going, keeps it fun and gets them joining in without any pressure. Parents stay close by, so it’s a good first step for kids who haven’t done a group activity before.
Toddler football session times
There are two sessions every Saturday morning, split by age so the kids are with others at the same stage.
9am is for 2 and 3 year olds.
10am is for 3 and 4 year olds.
The block runs for six Saturdays, from 7 November to 12 December, and costs £30. That works out at £5 a session.
Where it is
Monkwearmouth Academy, Torver Crescent, Sunderland SR6 8LG. It’s easy to get to from Fulwell, Seaburn, Southwick and Roker.
Spaces left
We’re nearly full. There are 3 spaces left at 9am and 2 left at 10am. Once they’re gone, they’re gone until the next block.

North East Sport has been running sport in Sunderland since 2008, and we’ve been based at Monkwearmouth Academy since 2014. Toddler football is the first step in. From here, kids can move into our youth football, holiday camps and after school clubs as they grow.
