Are you a girl aged 5-10 who really loves playing football?! Would you like to help us make a football song?
Local music organisation We Make Culture CIC is developing a new performance piece called Sweet Caroline and the Football Boots about a girl from Sunderland who LOVES football, which will tour community venues in April 2023. We are looking girls (aged 5-10 years old) to come and help us make some songs and recordings which will feature in the final performance.
We are working with NE Sport to offer some FREE music and football workshops which will take place on 3 and 10 February at 4pm-5pm in the Rotunda at Monkwearmouth School.
During the sessions, participants will be taking part in fun activities that combine music and football such as playing football games, recording sounds, making football chants, making up lyrics and talking about why girls love to play football! They will be led by musicians (and keen footballers!), Ashleigh Lowes and Paige Temperley.
Sessions are for girls, aged 5-10 years old, interested in football. Parents/ carers are invited to drop of their child or can wait in the café area. If your child takes part in Wildcats sessions at 5pm we will make sure they get to their football session!
