Football Club

We currently have a football club “North East Sport Youth FC” which has currently eight teams competing in the local Russell Fosters league, these teams are run by local parents and we support them through education and training.
As we develop we want to offer more children and parents help in developing their skills in different sports and eventually have a multi-sport club this is what we are working towards with the help of funders and local businesses.

“North East Sport is a great organisation to be a volunteer for, not only to they take you under their wing but they give you the confidence and space to grow and gain confidence within your field. There are many opportunities to push forward and the support is always given when it is needed.
It fills me full of pride to walk away from a session knowing that something you have just done or taught has increased a child’s confidence or knowledge.
I volunteer because of the amount of passion I have with wanting to make changes within communities. Sport is a fantastic path to take to be able to engage with many different groups on many different levels.
As much as I would like to see the children progress within their sport, my main aim is to allow them to have fun and have the confidence to grow within themselves.
As a volunteer Football Coach I encourage my players to have respect for each other as well as other teams that they are playing against, I allow them to make their own decisions (sometimes with a little guidance) so that they gain the confidence on the pitch to push forward and not feel under pressure if they make a mistake, it’s the allowing them to make their own decision, their own judgements that enhances their confidence and growth as a player.
Not only do I have the passion on the pitch but also behind the scenes where I like to be pro active of new ideas, fundraise, treats for achievements, networking, training, etc..
The passion and determination that I have from volunteering and bringing a smile to even one persons face, or hearing the laughter of even one child because of something I have done is a much greater sense of achievement than going home at the end of the month to see how much I’ve made.
I am very proud to be a volunteer / member of North East Sport and can only speak highly of the team and the work they achieve.”
