It’s Black Friday and we have been thinking, instead of a sale why not give to Charity. So today we are going to deliver some much-needed presents for the Angel Tree project. Do you know we originated from Austin House Southwick? So today it will be nice to give something back to the community and see some old faces.
We are also supporting The Colorectal Cancer trust Fund charity night which is at the Colliery Tavern on Saturday night 26th November 7 pm to late opposite the stadium of light.
One day we hope to be in a position to give more because as in the words of Winston S. Churchill.
“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.”
More information about the Angel Tree Project. All gift donations to The Angel Tree Appeal can be dropped off at The Southwick Community Project, Austin House Family Centre, Shakespeare Street, SR5 2JX until 19 December 2016. Volunteers will then wrap and deliver them to families and referring agencies throughout Sunderland.
The Salvation Army Southwick Community Project is on the frontline of The Salvation Army’s community work.
Situated in an area of high deprivation, where rates of unemployment and social exclusion are in the top 5% nationally, the project provides a range of services to the local community; including a daily term-time breakfast club, a children’s club, café and craft and social groups.
